The Colli Pesaresi, in the north of the Marche region, are territories rich in ancient history, tradition and memories linked to famous families such as the Da Montefeltro, the Malatesta, the Sforza and the Della Rovere.
The hills of this area, made up of sand, tuff and clay, host vineyards surrounded by cultivated fields and wooded areas, where the spring flowering of plants positively influences this area.
The vine assimilates the essence of this “terroir”, enriching the grapes with substances that give the wine its strong personality.
From these hills comes the:
SANT’ANDREA IN VILLIS 20125
Colli Pesaresi Sangiovese Doc Reserve
Sant’Andrea in Villis is a small village perched on a hill, on whose slopes that slope gently into the valley below, the vineyard is located. With a south / east exposure it has long sunlight and the hill that overlooks it protects it from the most violent bad weather that comes from the north. The hot and humid sirocco and the hot and dry libeccio, caressing the vineyard, complete the optimal ripening of the Sangiovese grapes.
Sensory analysis:
At sight it is ruby red with garnet reflections. Complex nose of aromas of red fruit, blackberries, currants, plum jam, juniper then minerality expressed in hints of humus, undergrowth, damp earth. Roasted nuts mace (nutmeg) and tobacco. The taste is soft, with elegant and non-bitter tannins which, balanced by a good alcohol content, make this wine harmonious with a long aromatic persistence and spicy hints.
