The hills surrounding the town of Pesaro, situated in the north of the Marches Region, are areas characterized by great ancient history, traditions and memories connected to famous aristocratic families such as Da Montefeltro, Malatesta, Sforza and Della Rovere.
Those hills, made up of sand, tuff and clay, have vineyards in the middle of cultivated lands and woodlands, where the spring florescence gives a positive connotation to this area.
The grapevine assimilates the essence of this terroir enriching the grapes with substances which give the wine its strong personality.
The following wine is born on those hills:
Marche IGT Rosso
Grapes coming from various vineyards situated on the hills just near the sea (location S. Andrea, location Roncosambaccio). The proximity to the sea influences the vineyards with a typical microclimate. The soils showing slight differences in their structure (tuff, sand and medium-texture) and slightly different climates due to various exposures give this wine a complex aroma.
Clear ruby red colour and tinges of ruby red. When you smell it, it starts with fruity cherry, raspberry and maraschino sour cherry as well as black cherry jam, violet and peony floral aroma, and then you smell spicy macis (nutmeg) and black pepper.
When tasted it is immediately full-flavoured and all-encompassing, savory, with tannins that are at the same time well-developed, strong and velvet-like. The end taste has a good aromatic persistence reminding ripe red fruit notes. A full-bodied wine with alcohol, acidity and tannins in the same intensity so that it gets intense and full-bodied but pleasantly and untiringly drinkable.
